Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Not a turkey – but possibly being eaten on Thanksgiving anyway.

Downtown Austin Blog wishes our readers a Happy Thanksgiving!

And by the way, this turkey guinea fowl really has been running around Rainey Street for quite awhile.  I hope whoever is keeping it doesn’t plan to eat it. 🙁

  1. I ALWAYS see this bird. For a long time my boyfriend didn’t believe that there was a rather enormous bird by the roundabout in the mornings–now I have proof!

Of course! Leave it to the long-time vegetarian to get her poultry mixed up!

Nonetheless, I haven’t seen him around since Thanksgiving day – maybe his owners used a guinea substitute for their meal.

  3. definitely NOT a turkey. paul’s right. it’s a guinea.

  4. Actually, that looks more like a guinea fowl than a turkey. If you listen to it and it says “pot-rack” rather than “gobble”, it is not a turkey. Just saying.
