Yes, in my two times, same thing. Not sure if you watched the mandatory training video but they sort of talk about it.
In my best use case for them, I want them when it is raining and that’s the worst time to have super crazy brakes.

Maybe it was the one I rode in, but the brakes and transmission of these little buggers take some getting used to.

I’ve done a Car 2 Go rental twice in the last month or so (you could sign up in April if you followed the correct links). I used it once when getting off a bus in the rain and once to show a friend. First trip was from 10th/Congress to Whole Foods area (though I had to take 11th to San Jac to 6th due to how it was parked). It was close to $5. Second trip was from 2nd/Congress to Whole Foods area. $3.50. I’ve taken a cab from Whole Foods to 6th/Red River before for only $5 (+ tip) so Car 2 Go is pretty much paying cab prices as best I can tell.
